London based actress and performer Val Sturgess, originally from Cornwall, is a versatile actress in comedy and drama. Val is a full member of Equity and can be viewed in Spotlight.

2009 has seen Val work with Hurricane Production; City Amigo; Photography by Gemma Hurley and A.I.M Productions to name but a few. Val is currently collaborating with A.I.M Production for a new comedy aimed at the corporate sector. In addition she is looking forward to working with Hurricane Productions again this Christmas for their panto 'Mother Goose'.

Val's first professional venture was with the BBC in the radio play 'The Sleeping Sword' (2003). This experience made such an impression on her, that Val developed a passion as a voice over artist as well as a stage and film actress. In addition to these areas, Val is also experienced in corporate training and physical theatre.

Val moved to London at 16 in order to attend Susi Earnshaw Theatre School. She spent two years here doing her A Levels when she was fortunate enough to be accepted straight into Rose Bruford College where she graduated from in 2006 with a degree in European Theatre Arts. Shortly after graduating Val joined the company Crescent Theatre Workshop. She continues to train with this company and has appeared in several of their productions, including 'National Amnesty' (2006), 'Baby Talk' (2007) and 'Listen'(2008) Crescent Theatre Workshop are currently devising a bespoke play to be performed at Kensington Palace.

Val has a photographic memory which has allowed her to step into to roles at the last minute (‘National Amnesty’) and understudy numerous parts in addition to her own (‘Listen’ and 'Dick Whittington'). Her natural talent and professionalism contribute to her positive ambition and drive.
